Health and Media Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa announced yesterday that the Government had decided to modernise and develop the Thriposha Company in Kandana, operating under the Health and Media Ministry and continue it as a State-owned enterprise to fulfill the nutritional needs of the nation.
.Minister Jayatissa highlighted that previous Governments failed to implement structured and goal-oriented strategies to maximise benefits of this vital national enterprise for the public.
He stated that the current Government is committed to reviving Thriposha Company as an active institution addressing the nutritional needs of Sri Lankans, reversing previous plans to shut it down.
During the visit, the Minister inspected the company’s raw material storage, production processes, machinery, packaging operations, quality management, and new product development. He also held extensive discussions with the board of directors, management, and staff, addressing operational challenges
