
BYD cars sold in Sri Lanka with Keells charging network coming up

Deliveries of China’s BYD cars has begun by a unit of Sri Lanka’s John Keells Holdings with a network of charging stations set up at supermarket operated by the same group.
JKCG Auto has set up charging centres in Keells Super markets in several cities
“These first deliveries mark a culmination in a years-long effort to establish BYD … and serves as an important milestone for our nation’s automotive industry, and for the aspirations for sustainable vehicle ownership for many Sri Lankans,” JKH Chairman Krishan Balendra said.
John Keells CG Auto (Private) Limited, agents for BYD in Sri Lanka is set up in collaboration with Nepals Chaudhary group.
“This launch reflects our commitment to long-term investment in the country’s green mobility landscape and to building a robust foundation for the future of electric transportation in the region,” Managing Director of CG Corp Global, Nirvana Chaudhary said in a statement.
General Manager of John Keells CG Auto, Charith Panditharatne said the firm is leveraging on the synergies within the John Keells Group to offer electric vehicles.
