More devotees expected in Kandy, people advised to avoid today

Police advised people to refrain from arriving in Kandy today to venerate and pay their respects to the Sacred Tooth Relic as more than 100,000 devotees are expected to arrive in Kandy by this morning.

Police said even more people could arrive by mid-day as today is a Sunday.

People are advised to avoid today and use a future date as the special exposition of the Sacred Tooth Relic will continue for seven more days except today.

They said more than 120,000 devotees venerated and paid their respects to the Sacred Tooth Relic yesterday.
