Singer Sri Lanka PLC is set to boost the light vehicle market with the reintroduction of Piaggio diesel three-wheelers, marking the Italian brand’s official return to Sri Lanka.
Renowned for rugged design and fuel efficiency, Piaggio has over 100,000 vehicles already operating locally. The Piaggio Apé, Sri Lanka’s only heavy-duty three-wheeler, is designed for challenging terrain and commercial use, making it a popular choice among transporters and micro-entrepreneurs.
Singer’s expanded portfolio now includes Piaggio’s diesel models alongside its range of eBikes and motorcycles. The move comes through a partnership with Piaggio Vehicles Ltd. and Silverline Ventura, UAE.
Singer Group Managing Director Mahesh Wijewardene emphasized the company’s legacy and strong market presence, stating the collaboration will offer consumers reliable and cost-effective mobility solutions across both passenger and cargo segments.
