Indictments have been served before the Colombo High Court on Yoshitha Rajapaksa and his grandmother Daisy Forest over allegations of money laundering involving Rs. 73 million. .
Indictments were served before Colombo High Court Judge Pradeep Abeyratne in relation to a case filed under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
It alleges that the accused committed the offense of money laundering by engaging in transactions related to Rs. 73 million, either directly or indirectly.
They have been charged under Section 113(a) of the Penal Code, read with Sections 3(1), 3(2), and 4 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act No. 5 of 2006 (as amended by Act No. 40 of 2011). The charges include engaging in or facilitating money laundering transactions and aiding and abetting such offenses.
