Trump–Putin peace talks set for August 15 in U.S.

The world’s attention is fixed on the 15th of August 2025, when a highly anticipated meeting will take place in Alaska, one of the states of America.

The war between Russia and Ukraine, which is still ongoing after more than three and a half years, has claimed the lives of hundreds of thousands of people in both countries. This historic occasion will bring U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin together for direct peace talks. The two leaders are expected to exchange ideas on how to end the war, with particular focus on what contributions and commitments Russia can make toward a lasting ceasefire.

The international community now waits to see the proposals that Russia will present, in the hope that this meeting will bring encouraging news for the suffering communities in Ukraine and Russia and mark a turning point toward peace.
