
SandBrix Leads Sri Lanka’s OTT Revolution in Sports Streaming

Sri Lanka’s online entertainment space is being redefined by SandBrix, the country’s leading “Over-The-Top” ( OTT), platform that deliver video and audio material over the internet rather than traditional sources like satellite television or cable. for live cricket and foreign sports.
OTT platforms usually offer greater freedom of choice, with many such services offering gratis or low-cost access to high-end content.
SandBrix has taken advantage of this model to revamp the way Sri Lankans watch sports. It offers fans with free access to more than 3,500 hours of live cricket action, including 13 Tests, 50 One Day Internationals (ODIs), and more than 650 T20 matches.
Ranging from such world-famous tournaments as The Ashes and India v Australia Test series to leagues such as the Big Bash League (BBL), Shpageeza Cricket League, and Abu Dhabi T10, the platform gives Sri Lankan fans an uninterrupted ride.
The company now intends to broadcast Sri Lanka’s upcoming foreign tours, starting with Zimbabwe this August and then the much-awaited Pakistan series. “Our vision is clear—cricket must be accessible to all,” stated a SandBrix spokesperson. “We are thrilled to provide world-class sport entertainment completely for free and eliminate obstacles to access.”
SandBrix’s success began earlier this year in IPL Season 18, when it set records for viewership and became a local streaming game-changer. Its popularity isn’t just due to free live cricket but also it’s expanding entertainment content lineup. It recently streamed the Miss Universe Sri Lanka Grand Finale, providing exclusive behind-the-scenes and the first post-crowning interview.
Besides sports and events, SandBrix also seeks to move into global films, documentaries, and lifestyle content, making it a one-stop portal for Sri Lankan digital entertainment.
As new OTT channels like SandBrix revolutionize viewing habits, Sri Lankans are abandoning traditional TV for easy, internet-based options. For cricket enthusiasts in general, SandBrix is emerging as the digital “home ground” per excellence, taking live cricket to every corner of the island
