Export Push Targets UK Market via Expo 2027 Platform

The Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB), in collaboration with the Sri Lanka High Commission in the UK, completed a massive two-day outreach program in London welcoming over 140 British buyers and investors to secure commercial partnerships ahead of the landmark Sri Lanka Expo 2027.

The UK remains a key market for premium Sri Lankan apparel, tea, and value-added agricultural goods. Establishing long-term legal and trade pathways via Expo 2027 hedges local exporters against volatile regional shipping routes, securing vital foreign currency inflows needed to stabilize the rupee.
