At least 8 dead, dozens injured in Ramboda bus accident

At least eight people have died after a Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) bus plunged into a precipice in the Garandiella area of Ramboda on the Nuwara Eliya–Gampola main road this morning (May 11).

According to police, more than 35 passengers were injured in the crash and are being rushed to hospital for treatment.

Five males and three women are among the deceased.

The bus was reportedly en route from Kataragama to Kurunegala via Nuwara Eliya at the time of the accident.
