Intex 2025: Textile Giants Gather in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is preparing to welcome thousands of global industry professionals as Intex Sri Lanka 2025, the region’s premier textile and apparel sourcing fair, returns for its 17th edition. The event will take place from August 6 to 8 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) in Colombo.

Organised by Worldex India Exhibition & Promotion Pvt. Ltd, the three-day event will bring together more than 2,000 exhibitors from over 20 countries, including India, China, Pakistan, Korea, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Over 52,000 buyers from 35 countries are expected to attend.

The exhibition will feature a wide range of products including fibres, yarns, apparel and denim fabrics, embroidery, laces, trims, buttons, zippers, clothing accessories, textile dyes and chemicals, textile testing equipment, software, ERP solutions, and textile design studios.

A key highlight of the event will be the Interactive Business Forum (IBF), organised in partnership with the Moratuwa University Textile Association.

This forum will host B2B sessions covering critical topics such as “Apparel 2030: Re-stitching Fashion’s Next Chapter” and “Trust Over Trends: Building Brands Consumers Trust”. These discussions promise to provide insights into future trends, bio-based fibres, circularity, smart clothing, talent development, and sourcing strategies in a volatile global economy, offering competitive global market intelligence.

Distinguished panelists scheduled to speak include Hemal Kannangara from Brandix Apparel, Dr. Karthik ND of Eurofins, ManMohan Singh from Birla Cellulose/Grasim industries, and Marc Lewkowitz, President & CEO of SUPIMA.

Running concurrently with the main exhibition, the third edition of INMAC 2025 – Smart Technology and Innovation in Gartex Machinery – will spotlight next-generation gartex machinery from Germany, China, India, and Taiwan.

This pavilion will highlight manufacturing advancements such as AI-powered inspection systems, digital print/dyeing technology, smart stitching solutions, and energy-efficient fabric finishers, showcasing how intelligent upgrades are reshaping textile production for a smarter, greener future.

The event’s programme also includes the unique “Fashion Fiesta,” an exclusive event where buyers and international exhibitors can network over a cultural night and fashion extravaganza.

With $4.8 billion in apparel exports in 2023, Sri Lanka continues to hold a strong position in the global market. According to Yohan Lawrence, Secretary General of the Joint Apparel Association Forum, Intex Sri Lanka offers a valuable platform for Sri Lankan manufacturers to expand their global reach and highlight ethical, sustainable practices.

The event is expected to further enhance Sri Lanka’s reputation as a leading textile and apparel sourcing destination in South Asia.
