New Port City regulations to be tabled in Parliament soon

The Cabinet of Ministers on Monday approved the submission of regulations issued under the Colombo Port City Economic Commission Act No. 11 of 2021 in Parliament for approval.
On 1 July, the Cabinet approved the nomination of the following entities as “Primary Institutions with Strategic Importance” under the Act: IFC Colombo 1 Ltd., ICC Port City Ltd., Ceylon Real Estate Holdings Ltd., and Clothespin Management and Development Ltd.
The regulations, prepared under section 53 of the Colombo Port City Economic Commission Act No. 11 of 2021 published by the extraordinary gazette notifications will now be submitted to Parliament.
The proposal to this effect submitted by President Anura Kumara Disanayake in his capacity as the Finance, Planning and Economic Development Minister was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
