President thanks voters after NPP”bulldozes” to massive win

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake thanked voters after the National People’s NPP ”bulldozed” itself to a massive win at the 2024 Parliament Elections.

The NPP secured a majority in Parliament at the polls winning most of the districts.“Thank you to all who voted for a renaissance,” the President said on X.

The NPP said that it managed to bulldoze its way to victory at the election.The NPP had secured 141 seats in Parliament based on the results released until 1pm Sri Lanka time on Friday.

The Samagi Jana Balawegaya led by Sajith Premadasa was second with 35 seats.The Illangai Thamil Arasu Katchi (ITAK) secured 7 seats and the New Democratic Front led by former President Ranil Wickremesinghe secured 7 seats.

The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) secured just 2 seats and the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress also got 2 seats
