Rajagiriya motor accident case: SC dismisses Champika’s appeal

The Supreme Court today dismissed an appeal petition filed by former Parliamentarian Patali Champika Ranawaka in connection with the indictment filed over the Rajagiriya motor accident case before the Colombo High Court.
Ranawaka filed this appeal challenging the Court of Appeal’s decision to reject his revision application regarding the alleged motor accident that took place in 2016 at Rajagiriya.
In their judgment, the Supreme Court’s three-judge bench, comprising Chief Justice Murdu Fernando, Justices Gamini Amarasekara and Yasantha Kodagoda, directed the Colombo High Court to proceed with the trial against the accused.
