Sri Lanka still fails to get into McDonald’s new franchise listings
McDonald’s has not yet listed Sri Lanka among the countries where it is open to seek a new franchisee.McDonald’s and its former Sri Lankan franchise had recently entered a legal settlement mutually ending their relationship.
McDonald’s Corporation and International Restaurant Systems (Private) Limited had entered a legal settlement mutually agreeable to them, a statement had said.
However, McDonald’s Corporation has not yet listed Sri Lanka among the countries where applications can be submitted to represent the country.Sri Lanka has already been removed from the list of countries where McDonald’s has a presence.
In March McDonald’s decided to end an agreement with its local partner in Sri Lanka, Abans, and all 12 outlets in the country were closed.The parent company decided to terminate the agreement with the franchisee due to standard issues.
