The Sri Lankan Government is to introduce three Bills to Parliament in an attempt to recover stolen assets, Minister of Justice Harshana Nanayakkara said.

He told Parliament that the Proceeds of Crime Bill, Rescue, Rehabilitation and Insolvency Bill and the amendments to the Audit Bill will be presented to Parliament early next year.

The Minister said that the focus of the Bills is to recover stolen assets, trace proceeds of crime, deter money laundering, drug trafficking and improve creditors confidence.

Nanayakkara said that while the Government and opposition can fight politics, they must unite to uphold the rule of law.The Minister also noted that the Government will not leave room for racism or extremism to raise its head once again in Sri Lanka.
