Sri Lanka’s tourist arrivals increased 17.3 percent from a year ago to 174,608 in April 2025, with most visitors coming from India, data from the island’s tourism promotion office showed.
There were 38,744 visitors from India, making up 22.2 percent of total arrivals, followed by the UK with 17,348 which made up 9.9 percent of arrivals.
Arrivals from Russia slipped to third place, with 13,525, making up 7.7 percent of the total.Total visitors so far this year are 896,884.Sri Lanka’s winter tourist season flags off in April.
