SriLankan Airlines and Saudia Airlines have renewed and expanded their interline partnership, further strengthening the long-standing cooperation between the two national carriers to improve regional and global air connectivity.
Under the revised agreement, 13 international destinations within Saudia’s network and 13 domestic points across Saudi Arabia will now be seamlessly linked to Sri Lanka’s Colombo hub, enabling smoother travel for passengers across both airlines’ routes.
In a statement, SriLankan Airlines said the upgraded partnership would provide greater travel convenience, flexible ticketing options, and enhanced connectivity between the Middle East, Asia, and the Indian Subcontinent.
The move is expected to significantly benefit Sri Lanka’s tourism and expatriate travel markets, offering easier access for Saudi travelers and Sri Lankans working in the Gulf region.
Aviation analysts note that such strategic partnerships are key to strengthening Sri Lanka’s aviation recovery and positioning Bandaranaike International Airport as a regional transit point. The renewed collaboration also aligns with both airlines’ post-pandemic strategy to expand network coverage and enhance customer experience through improved cooperation and digital integration.
