Hambantota Port Courts Nepal for Regional Trade Partnerships

Sri Lanka’s Hambantota International Port (HIP) has taken steps to position itself as a South Asian logistics and investment hub by showcasing its capabilities to a high-level delegation from Nepal.

During the visit, Nepali officials were given a comprehensive tour of the port’s strategic facilities and briefed on its logistics infrastructure, industrial development initiatives, and growth strategies. The visit aimed to foster regional cooperation and strengthen cross-border commercial ties.

HIP officials highlighted the port’s strategic Indian Ocean location and its potential as a key logistics gateway for landlocked countries like Nepal.

The delegation was encouraged to promote trade, logistics, and industrial partnerships with Hambantota, paving the way for future Nepali investments and commercial ventures through the port.
