
Government to settle SriLankan Airlines cases filed in foreign courts

The Government is looking to settle cases filed against SriLankan Airlines in foreign courts, a Deputy Minister said on Tuesday.
Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning, Dr. Harshana Suriyapperuma told Parliament that politics and corruption had ruined the airline.
He said that corruption had resulted legal action being taken against the airline in foreign courts.The Deputy Minister said that the Government has allocated funds through the 2025 budget to settle some of those cases.
He said the Government has set a 5-year plan to boost the operations of SriLankan Airlines, which includes obtaining more aircraft for the national airline.
