Sri Lanka Yunnan Trade Framework Signed

The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce hosted a high-level business delegation from China’s Yunnan Province to implement new “Three Free, Three Facilitation” trade frameworks. The initiative aims to dramatically scale up the entry of Sri Lankan goods into Chinese markets.

The fresh bilateral framework provides Sri Lankan entrepreneurs with a comprehensive market access package. This includes free warehousing facilities, free permanent exhibition booths, and dedicated online market access.

Furthermore, the agreement guarantees streamlined customs clearance and direct transport facilities to China. Sectors represented include pharmaceuticals, healthcare, agriculture, logistics, and dairy manufacturing.

Local business councils expect these practical trade incentives to drive immediate joint ventures. The focus remains on establishing concrete, climate-resilient production networks across the region.
